Most of our training usually comes from actual hands on incidents at various organised events throughout the calendar year. These events include motor cycle racing, car rallies, bicycle events, sponsored walks and marathons. Normally an operator will either be place within a vehicle along with members of a medical team or at a static location providing communications for a voluntary ambulance crew. Such operations provide us with ongoing training to be able to respond to many types of incidents.
The provision of funding from Awards for all has given us a unique opportunity to develop a training program for all members. A training manual, based on that used by the emergency services, is almost completed and it is hoped to be able to provide an accredited certification for all those who successfully complete the test at the end of training.
